Fresh Carpet Cleaning Wollongong

![]() Many of the same reasons given for cleaning your carpets apply also in relation to rug cleaning. Rugs, like carpets, are usually used to give people’s homes some added colour and character. As they don’t require the installation carpet does, one’s individual style and vibe can be more easily demonstrated with a well placed rug than with carpets and hard floors.
In a dark room, a person might decide to place a light coloured rug to give the room some brightness. In the living room, parents might put down a plush rug to give kids an extra layer of comfort on which to play and fool around on. In most homes, rugs are put in high traffic areas, often as protection for the carpets underneath. Therefore, there should be much of a shock to realise they can become dirty and worn out even faster than carpets. Which means we need to take care of them the same way we take care of our carpets, by regularly cleaning them, for many of the same reasons that we need to keep our carpets clean. Rugs will collect dirt, dust and grit off your shoes and clothes. Kids spill food and drink and wipe their sticky hands on them; pets shed hair on them like there’s no tomorrow, and sometimes use them as their toilet, if they are too young to know better, or too old to make it to where they need to go. And as your rugs are often in high-trafficked areas, all of this gets trampled deep into your rug’s fibres, the same rug your kids play on, and you sit on. People with breathing problems like asthma, or who have allergies or hay fever, are particularly at risk because of this. When we move, when we walk on the rugs, we can dislodge all of the stuff listed previously; they become airborne and we inhale it into our lungs. We think we can just vacuum this all up and everything will be ok, and will vacuuming does help to a small degree, it is not enough. Vacuums only suck up the top layer of dirt, dust and everything else, but the majority of the things that can cause breathing issues are still lodged deep within the fibres of the rug. |
